How to use the viewer
- Choose a Server and When. For a selected day, choose its date beside When.
- Enter words or a phrase, then choose Find text. Open Advanced search to use a pattern.
- Read the first result and its surrounding lines. Use Next occurrence to move through the results, or select one from the list.
Smaller periods finish searching sooner. Searches across several lines are available in Advanced search.

Select a result to read up to 15 lines before and after it.
Browse a day
Open the selected day from the search controls above, or choose a recorded day below. To enter a date, choose Selected day under When. Days use your account timezone. Hover or focus a line number to see its time. New output can take a short time to appear.
Find older days
Recording settings
Logging saves MUD output and sent commands on the PlayMUD.online server, including private conversations and sensitive text. Commands sent while the MUD signals password mode are omitted, but secrets echoed by the MUD can still be saved. Pause recording before exchanging sensitive information. Recording starts only for servers you explicitly select.
Download logs
Download fileKeep this viewer open while a search or download is being prepared. Leaving the page cancels unfinished work. Including times or connection labels changes only the downloaded file.
Delete history
Deletion cancels affected searches and downloads and hides the selected history immediately. Storage space becomes available after file cleanup finishes; failed cleanup is retried. Downloaded copies and external backups are not erased. Recording settings stay the same, so save a pause first if you also want to stop recording.
